- There is a Great Increase in the Demand for Medical assistants from 2008 – 2018 making the increase more than the usual rate for most professions.
- Job availability for Medical Assistants are excellent.
- About half or roughly 62% work inside physician clinics and offices.
- Mostly Medical assistants are Trained on the Job, but others have completed a 1 year to 2 Year program.

The projected growth of Medical Assistant Jobs is more than 20 percent in average (about 34 percent from 2008-2018) which is really good if you are looking to start a career in Medical Assisting. You don’t want to be in a career that would be gone in 2-5 years time.
If you have a complete Medical Assistant Training and Medical Assistant Certification, the job opportunities are better because most physicians and employers want someone who has been registered or certified.
Though most federal and state governments don’t regulate Medical Assistants yet, the formal training and certification gives you the edge over the competition.
The reason for the increased demand in Medical assistants can be attributed to the increased demand of all Healthcare workers. Because more and more patients are having diabetes and obesity as a Major form of illness, a lot of healthcare workers will be needed in the future.

So How Do You Find Job Opportunities for Medical Assistants In Your Area?
Looking for a Medical Assistant Job is just like looking for any type of Job. There will an Interview and Selection process so you’ll need to put your best and make a good impression right from the very start.
Although Medical Assistants Doesn’t need to be Registered or Certified to start working, being formally trained and certified would definitely give you an edge over the other prospective candidates.
Take note that being Registered and Certified is actually a different thing. It entirely depends on the body or organization providing you the title.

After being certified or registered, you’ll need to prepare your Medical Assistant Curriculum Vitae or Medical Assistant Resume, some tips are provided in the previous link.
Make sure that you don’t include previous job experiences that are not real. Also make sure that if you have no prior experience to being a medical assistant, try to include skills and knowledge that you know might help you in getting the job.
These skills and knowledge can help but there are not limited to these:
- Word processing skills. Ability to enter data or some form of data processing in a computer.
- Analytical and Organizational skills which can help in the book keeping and administrative aspects of the job.
